Microsoft’s Free New Windows Upgrade: How It Works And How To Get It

Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. But now, users can get an extra year of free security updates through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
Earlier, this extra year cost $30, but Microsoft now offers it for free if you link your Microsoft account and sync your PC settings to the cloud.
To enroll, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update on a Windows 10 (version 22H2) Home, Pro, Pro Education, or Workstation device with the latest updates.
